After the 3DS system update late last month, Nintendo released another new one. This upgrades the system to 11.16.0-49. Here are the full patch notes, courtesy of Nintendo’s support site:

Ver. 11.16.0-49U (September 12, 2022)

“Additional improvements to overall system stability and other minor fixes have been made to enhance the user experience.”

Data miner Oatmeal shed some light on this recent system update (media @snbeast6). Apparently, the Nintendo support phone number was issued because of a “missing digit”.

“Version 11.16.0-49 has been released, a minor fix to the previous firmware. The only change is to fix a typo (missing digit in the Nintendo support phone number) in the text added in the last update. Homebrew is unaffected and it’s safe to update.”

The previous update (Version 11.16.0-48) was also a stability update, but included some updates to the 3DS eShop, the web browser, and a few other areas.
