Kyle Shanahan and the 49ers beat the Cowboys in Green Bay 48-32 on Sunday to prepare for the Packers for two quarters.

Speaking to the media before the 49ers’ NFC divisional-round game, Shanahan made it clear he wasn’t entirely surprised by the Packers’ sharp performance against Dak Prescott and KPC. Seed.

“I’ll say that – Green Bay just because we didn’t really study and watch them before we got into the playoffs. Once we get those ten days, you’re going to see a lot of people,” Shanahan said. “You realize they had a good shot. I mean, I didn’t know who was going to win, but I wasn’t surprised by what happened. Dallas is a good team.

“The way it started was a little surprising, but when you watch the tape and go into Green Bay and think about their numbers and see their players and how they’re doing, it doesn’t surprise me at this point.”

The 49ers coach added how he and his staff didn’t study much film against Saturday’s opponent. It wasn’t until the Packers, powered by quarterback Jordan Love and running back Aaron Jones, kicked into high gear early in the second quarter that proved they were next for the 49ers.

“We were still here. [in the office]Shanahan told reporters, so we were doing that day. A little earlier in the week, we were mixed up by beating two teams. But [we] In the middle of the second quarter, he really started to focus on them. Then they [the Cowboys] I scored late in the second quarter, so I did both at halftime. And then, the third quarter I was prepared in a group [the Packers].”

With the Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys falling in the Super Wild Card weekend, the 49ers’ path to the playoffs now looks clear.

Star 49ers defensive end, Nick Bosa, however, advises that in the pursuit of the Lombardi Trophy, any team should be underestimated and swept under the carpet.

“Yeah, definitely don’t look past opponents in the playoffs,” Bosa said. “But when you watch the tape, it makes perfect sense.”

Over the weekend, the 49ers rested and got a head start on analyzing Saturday’s opponent, an added benefit for Shanahan that he didn’t expect — but happily takes on — against dangerous Green Bay.
