Ravens tight end Mark Andrews will miss the rest of the season after suffering an ankle injury in Week 11’s 34-20 win over the Cincinnati Bengals, coach John Harbaugh said after the game.
An MRI revealed the Ravens star tight end suffered a sprained fibula and an ankle ligament injury, a person familiar with the situation told USA TODAY Sports. They asked not to be named because of the seriousness of the matter.
But there was more positive news during the week.
“After the game, it wasn’t as bad as I first feared,” Harbaugh said.
So is Andrew out for the season? Nothing is clear yet, Harbaugh said.
“But it wasn’t as bad as it could have been,” Harbaugh added. “Based on the MRI, it’s cleaner than they thought. The team placed Andrews on injured reserve on Saturday.

Comparisons to the Baltimore Ravens’ 2000 defense, one of the greatest in league history, were premature. But the 2023 version of Baltimore’s defense deserves its own credit.
His second season under defensive coordinator Mike McDonald’s system is an obvious — but important — difference, players say.
“He has a somewhat complicated scheme. But he did a great job drilling the drills and making it easy for us,” safety Kyle Hamilton told USA TODAY Sports.
Getting defenders to know how to do multiple things and play different positions — especially for a 6-foot-4 safety like Hamilton — are all parts of McDonald’s philosophy.
“I think he always keeps the offense on their toes, and I think it allows us to make plays in different areas and show our versatility,” Hamilton said.
“The players have to watch the wrinkle that McDonald and his staff plan every week,” edge rusher Odafe Ow said.
“Also, I think guys are getting more comfortable with the scheme and the defense,” Oweh said. “Mike had all of those things last year.” Men are learning dramas and are more skilled at certain positions.”
