I thought we were done with the base Elden Ring Narrative and instead, moved on to understanding the Shade of Erdtree clues director Hidetaka Miyazaki was left behind. But it turns out that FromSoftware’s masterpiece is actually an endless treasure trove of cool lore and interesting stories, as a dataminer recently recreated an alternate presentation of the game that changes things up a bit.
whom noted by IGN, Elden Ring dataminer Sekiro Dubi discovered that the game originally started with you washing up at the beach instead of waking up in the Closed Graveyard and moving on to the Cave of Knowledge. Elden Ring players know that after you (most likely) die to the Grafted Scion boss in the Chapel of Waiting, the game instills you with an actual tutorial area. However, in March 6 YouTube videoSekiro Dubi states that “the original Elden Ring They restored the “starting point”, FromSoft actually meant that your liquefied body would arrive on the sandy beach below the Seaside Ruins. This is where you first meet Melina and Torrent, according to a cutscene that Sekiro Dubi put together after digging through the in-game files.
Although there are a few new lines here and there, the dialogue doesn’t change much. The starting point itself is completely new. Instead of controlling your Damage status in the Closed Graveyard as in the retail version Elden Ring, Sekiro Dubi revealed that at some point in the game’s development, you’ll encounter an enemy on the beach, a mercenary and his monster, before entering a cave that leads you to the Closed Cemetery. According to Sekiro Dubi’s findings, all of this is even present in the game’s Network Test maps, suggesting that Stormveil Castle used to have a teleport that took you back to the Chapel of Waiting.
