BLAIR COUNTY, Pa. (WTJ) – The James E. Van Zandt VA Medical Center is now offering Bivalent COVID-19 booster shots to individuals who have completed the first round of the COVID-19 vaccine.
A bivalent covid-19 booster clinic is scheduled for Wednesday, September 21, 2022, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Vaccine boosters are also available to all other veterans, spouses, caregivers and CHAMPVA recipients under the mandate of the SAVE LIVES Act, as supply and affordability allows.
Given the rapid expansion of Omicron’s alternative and significantly improved protection with early incentives, it’s critical to get an up-to-date incentive as soon as you qualify. The VA continues to offer the first series of Covid-19 vaccines to people who have not yet been vaccinated. The updated booster protects against the original virus that causes Covid-19 and the BA.4 and BA.5 Omicron sub-variants.
Individuals who have completed the primary series, including those who received booster shots, and whose last shot was at least two months ago are eligible for the updated booster.
If you can’t make it to the Altoona VAMC walk-in clinic, James E. Van Zandt VA Medical Center Facebook page It has more places and times.
You can also call 814-943-8164 extension 15800 to schedule your booster shot.
Anyone coming to enrichment must bring their CDC Covid-19 vaccination card.
