Zippo claimed last August new 2D Mario the game is ready and it will have an art style that will “wow” people. They also claimed that it will play online multiplayer. Finally, this alleged new 2D Mario will not be part of the gameNew Super Mario Bros.” series.

Fast forward to now, Zippo is back with some new information about the alleged 2D Mario the game. Apparently, Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Toad are all playable characters – as in the same series. Super Mario Bros. 2 for NES.

One thing is for sure that I am indeed We hope that this claim of an art style that will “wow” people is true. We got four main lines 2D Mario games and a major expansion that used “New Super Mario Bros.” art direction and has been bland from the start. It’s time for something new and exciting for 2D Mario, and the stylish new art direction is just what the series needs to spice things up. Hell, something along the lines of made by a fan Super Mario Flashback it would be nice.
