A new gender-swapped ninja has been potentially leaked as Mortal Kombat 1 DLC

Mortal Kombat 1 received its latest DLC character on Ermac earlier today, but it looks like we may now know something else may be on the way for the game.

A piece of upcoming DLC for MK1 has potentially leaked online, and interestingly, it’s for a new gender-swapped version of the classic ninja.

Potential spoilers for future announcements for Mortal Kombat ahead.

Professional model and fashion designer Jiwon Ra made a rather interesting post on Instagram today claiming to have secured the face model shoot for Harumi Hasashi in Mortal Kombat 1.

Additionally, his post states that Scorpion will be part of the game as a female version.

This Scorpion doesn’t sound like a fully playable character, but considering his post says “Choose Harumi as Cameo” along with using the hashtag #Kameo.

If all of this is legit, it likely points to the new Scorpion Kamo in MK1’s Kombat Pack 2, which has yet to be officially revealed.

Going in that direction wouldn’t be too surprising if they made a Janet Cage Cameo in Kombat Pack 1 as an alternate gender change of Johnny Cage (who also appears briefly in story mode).

If you really want to get technical on this, since Harumi is already an established character, it would be more of a sex-swap title than the usual owners of Scorpio.

In the original timeline, Harumi was the wife of Hanzo Hasashi, who was killed along with Shirai Ryu and inspired Scorpion on his path of revenge.

In the timeline of Mortal Kombat 1, she is as Harumi Shirai and is married to Kuai Liang Scorpion as part of the Shirai Ryu and is alive as far as we know.

For this Cameo, it looks like they’ll choose one of the other potential timelines presented in MK1 where Hanzo is killed by Harumi taking up the mantle of Scorpion.

As for how his actions and appearance will differ from Hanzo / Kuai Liang, that remains to be seen, but his in-game artwork suggests that he may focus more on swordplay.

NetherRealm Studios or Warner Bros. As nothing has yet been officially confirmed by

As of press time, Jiwon Ra’s post is still up on Instagram and she is actively responding to fan comments. It even includes an interrogation of whether he’s allowed to talk about it, to which he replies, “I do.”

He also adds quite a few pictures and videos in the post, but none of them are really new (or in some cases part of MK1) other than the motion / face capture setup.

If Harumi Scorpion is indeed coming to MK1 as DLC in the future, the official announcement will still be a few months away.

Kombat Pack 2 likely won’t be revealed until Final Kombat this summer, either in June after the first set of DLC is completed with Takeda.
