Our sister site to get you started Push Square He gave the PlayStation 5 version a 7/10 – admittedly, these games could do more for gamers in their prime:
“The Phantasy Reverie Series is a relatively uncluttered collection of remasters. There are a few quality-of-life improvements, and the games feature high-definition paint, but if you didn’t like Klonoa back then, then you’re not. If you didn’t play Klonoa back then, you’ll want to look at these games and see them as more than they really are. you won’t have to have your nostalgia goggles on – a few pretty good platformers and little else, and that’s fine.”
Pocket tactics He found Klonoa’s return to be a “fantastic platformer” and thinks the platforming segments are still relevant to games like Mario and Crash Bandicoot:
“Overall, the Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series is a great platformer, and it fills me with joy to know that more people will be able to experience these beloved games. Who knows, maybe this will lead to more remasters. For now, I encourage everyone to try this game, its distribution the joy is contagious, the platforming segments rival Mario and Crash, while also managing to remind you that it’s on its own and that Klonoa has its own personality.”
Attack of the Fanboy Bandai awarded Namco’s latest release 4/5 stars – advising existing fans to treat themselves to the new releases:
“If you grew up playing Klonoa, or were even remotely interested in the franchise back then, you should do yourself a favor and treat yourself to these titles. Now you can own two of the greatest retro platformers. Making hundreds of dollars an easy sell for fans of the franchise. If if you want to fall in love with a platformer that puts its heart on its sleeve, you’ll be happy to know that these titles are still around. Even if they don’t feel as polished as some of the newer games in the genre, they hold up very well. you can figure it out. questions were asked.”
Already GamersRD this “much needed remaster” was awarded 7.5/10 – here’s the translation:
“The Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series is a good opportunity to play again with the characters of our childhood. It’s a much-needed remaster, but it could have included better things for this generation.”
