AMD’s Ryzen 9000 “Granite Ridge” CPU with Zen 5 architecture has been leaked and is claimed to be 19% faster on a single thread compared to Zen 4.

AMD Zen 5 CPU leak shows that Ryzen 9000 “Granite series” is faster than Zen 4 with 3D V-cache running at 5.8 GHz.

It looks like AMD’s next-gen Ryzen CPUs based on the Zen 5 core architecture have started leaking. The latest information is coming Baidu Forum where a user leaked an alleged sample of the processor with OPN ID “100-0000001290”. It’s still an early engineering sample, but Infinity Fabric is said to have changed a lot and the CPU is clocked at up to 5.8GHz, 100MHz faster than the Ryzen 9 7950X, making it the fastest Ryzen CPU ever. History.

A CPU-z screenshot of this alleged Ryzen 9000 Desktop CPU shows a TDP of 170W, which means we could be looking at a 16-core or 12-core configuration. The CPU was also tested within CPU-z and scored around 910 points. This is an impressive lead over the Zen 4-based Ryzen 9 7950X, scoring an average of 767 points and a +19% performance gain.

Other details mentioned in this leak include a new infinity connection that should work well for CCD-to-CCD and IOD communication. There are also reports of improvements to the IMC (Memory Controller) and finally, the performance of the standard Zen 5 CPU should be higher in gaming than the Zen 4 3D V-Cache chips.

AMD is expected to launch Ryzen 9000 “Granite Ridge” CPUs with Zen 5 architecture in four SKUs of 16, 12, 8 and 6 cores. Additionally, we saw an IPC increase of close to 10%, pushing the performance increase up to 40% with some specific workloads. Several engineering samples have also been leaked, as seen here. Not much is known about AMD’s Zen 5 core architecture at the moment, but the following are what we do know officially:

  • Improved performance and efficiency
  • Re-piped front end and wide issue
  • Integrated AI and Machine Learning optimizations

AMD Ryzen 9000 “Zen 5” Desktop CPUs are rumored to hit retail shelves by July. We’re a few days away from AMD’s keynote, so stay tuned for more information. The company will also introduce its Ryzen AI 300 mobile APUs, starting with the new Strix designs.
