Android 15 copies the One UI design for voice control, but adds more functionality

Samsung One Ui 6 Quick Panel

Google released the second beta version of Android 15 a few hours ago. It introduces several new features and UI improvements, one of which is inspired by One UI 6’s volume control menu. However, in addition to what Samsung offers in One UI, Android 15 adds features related to media playback.

In Android 15, the volume control menu can change media output

as revealed in 9To5Google report, Google has improved the volume control UI with Android 15. Its design is similar to One UI 6.0, showing an overflow menu when you expand the volume control slider. From the extended flood menu, it allows you to change the volume of alarms, call alerts, ringtones, media playback and notifications.

It also includes a separate volume control slider for media playback on a Google Streaming device (such as Google Home or Google TV). One feature that is not available in One UI but is available in Android 15 is the ability to switch media playback from one Google Cast device to another. Plus, this overflowing menu features Material You colors.

You can see the design of the One UI 6.0 interface in our detailed video below.

This overflow menu also has a button to enable or disable Live Subtitles. This feature is now available in the overflow menu for volume control in One UI 6.0. This new design was revealed last month, but not final, and has now appeared in Android 15 Beta 2. The Google Cast media output switcher may appear in One UI 7.0, which may debut on Galaxy phones and tablets later this year.
