We’ve reached the midway point of the British Open, and Shane Lowry has completely dominated the leaderboard.

Lowry dropped to 7-under after a second-round 69 on Friday, giving him a two-shot lead over the field heading into the day at Royal Troon in Scotland. He had a bit of a leg up in the second round, as the strong winds completely beat the afternoon waves and sent many of the big names home early.

Daniel Brown, who led after the first round, shot a 1-over 72 on Friday. Saturday begins the week at 5-under with Justin Rose. Since 1951, they are the first trio from the United Kingdom and Ireland to lead a British Open tournament on the middle course.

Top-ranked Scotty Scheffler starts the day five shots back of Lowry at 2-under. Scheffler, who has won six times on the PGA Tour this season, is coming off a playoff win at the Travelers Championship.
