What will the Warriors do with the No. 52 overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft?

Some believe Golden State will join the James Gang.

in ESPN In the latest 2024 NBA Mock Draft, the Warriors are projected to use No. 52 on Bronnie James, the eldest son of longtime Golden State rival and current Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James. As of May 31, the Warriors have no workouts scheduled with James Jr. (h/t KRON 4 News’ Jason Dumas).

The 19-year-old James struggled in his first and only season at USC, averaging 4.8 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.1 rebounds on 36.6 percent shooting from the field and 26.7 percent on 3-pointers.

However, James is the son of one of the greatest athletes and basketball players. In the NBA, a Davion Mitchell-esque defender with James’ tenacity, athleticism and general impotence can make crossing the half court a battle for opponents.

Longtime Warrior and James family fan Draymond Green shared what he loves about the youngster. “The Draymond Green Show.” In the year June 26 will give April a hint of what Golden State might be thinking.

“Yes, I think Broney will be a successful player in the NBA,” asserted Green of Clutch Sports. “At worst, Broney is an NBA-level defender who can shoot … a 3-and-D guy — we’ve got them all in the NBA. [He] He can load the ball and … at worst be a backup point guard who can take up the full court, putting pressure on the other team’s lead guard. [and] He can come in and change his time on the defensive end.

The young guard declared for the draft on April 5th and had until May 29th to withdraw his name. James backed his decision to bet on himself.

In addition to his role as a point guard, James offers the opportunity — for better or worse — to lure his father into being his teammate. If the Warriors bring the younger James to the Bay, there’s a chance his father could follow.

Of course, if the father and son duo can suit up for the Chase Center crowd in San Francisco, home of the Warriors, it will be something. After all, both members of James’ family have been big fans of superstar — or teammate — Steph Curry for some time.

As of Friday, ESPN believes the former Trojan Warrior is slated to be. However, there’s no telling where James will call upon the start of the 2024-25 NBA season.
