One can apply online for citizenship in India on the CAA portal. For this you have to register on the portal. After this you need to submit necessary documents. Then, after registration, there will be a government verification process. If all your documents are correct, you will be granted Indian citizenship.

What is the CAA NRC Act?

The CAA Act was enacted in 2019. Under this there is a provision to grant Indian citizenship to minorities living in neighboring countries. Under this, oppressed ethnic minorities from Bangladesh and Afghanistan will be given Indian citizenship without any documents. Accordingly, 6 minority communities such as Hindus, Christians, Sikhs, Jains, Buddhists and Parsis, have the right to apply for Indian citizenship. For this, along with being a minority, they must come to India before December 31, 2014.
