At halftime on “Sunday Night Football,” the New York Giants lead the division rival Washington Chiefs 14-3.

New York didn’t do much offensively until late in the first half, but rookie edge rusher Kyvon Thibodeau’s dominant defensive play gave the Giants an early lead. Thibodeaux made several plays behind the line of scrimmage, including two touchdowns and a sack for a loss, recovering the ball himself and taking it into the end zone.

Thibodeau’s play helped the Giants overcome a strong rushing half from Washington’s running back duo (Bryan Robinson and Antonio Gibson) who combined for 74 yards on 12 carries. The commanders were unable to successfully convert their vehicles into touchdowns, and thus fell back. The Giants went on an 18-play, 97-yard jaunt late in the second quarter that ended with Saquon Barkley’s 3-yard plunge into the end zone at 8:35 p.m.

Will the Giants hold on to their lead or will the Chiefs mount a comeback? We will have enough information soon. In the meantime, stay tuned to our live blog throughout the rest of the evening as we keep you updated with stats, results and highlights.
