Destiny 2 has long struggled with a problem with crafting, where the drops in this world can never be measured without the ability to have advanced perks. Well, that’s changing for The Final Shape, and now Bungie is detailing how.

Process strengthen weapons it’s relatively simple, and there’s a wide, wide variety for the upgrade to work on, including a lot of old weapons that Bungie didn’t previously say could be upgraded. With a few exceptions, this is every new era weapon with an origin feature.

So how does it work? There are three levels of improvement:

First Class Upgrade (just showing the value of 3 upgrade cores) – It replaces your masterwork and applies a built-in item that matches the old stats. Gives him a memory slot and a level. For Adept Raid weapons, you can change your barrels and magazines on Mars just like you craft a weapon.

Secondary improvement (requires lvl 11 fixed by kill or now requires a major investment as a craft) – The left column will automatically upgrade to improved perk. This applies to both features on a multiperk weapon, such as ultimate sparkles. You don’t need to go to Mars for that.

Tertiary improvement (requires level 17) – You guessed it, it’s the advantage(s) on the right this time, and you’re done at this point. There’s no word on whether these weapons will take a small level 20 stat hit like crafted weapons.

All weapons going forward will have the ability to do this, but Bungie has now revealed the full list of sources. current farming weapons that will have this ability. More than previously thought. Those sources:

  • Apprentice Raid Oath of the Masters
  • Defense Games
  • King’s Fall Raid Adepts
  • Gambit
  • Competitive Crucible (all)
  • Trials of Osiris
  • The crucible
  • Iron Banner
  • Vanguard Ops
  • Nights
  • Prophecy Dungeon

There are some exceptions before season 17 that still drop with origin features, but for some reason it won’t work. These are not listed.

So here the process is very easy. It seems to be no more difficult than crafting in terms of cost and adjustment. Of course, crafting is still technically better because you can customize it each aspect of your weapon, including crafting and barrels/mags on everything, not just Adept Raid weapons. But it’s definitely better than before. Although I think every weapon can be buffed now, what’s the point other than a little extra grind or basic burn. But whatever, I won’t complain because everyone is asking for it. It’s just a little weird.
