Elden Ring is getting a board game adaptation thanks to a collaboration between Bandai Namco and Steamforged Games. Elden Ring publisher Bandai Namco and board game developer Steamforged have previously worked together on the board game Dark Souls, and Steamforged has also worked on Horizon, Resident Evil, Monster Hunter, and more. has created adaptations.

according to Evaporated, the board game’s Kickstarter campaign will begin very soon. We don’t know exactly how the board game will play yet, but it will support 1 to 4 Darkened players visiting the iconic locations of the Elden Ring’s vast world, the Lands Between.

Players will also encounter enemies and bosses in “diceless combat, requiring players to strategize and adapt their plans during each encounter.” The announcement says that players will have to fight enemies including “the vile Godric’s Soldier or the Grafted King himself.”

In 2018, Steamforged Games’ Dark Souls board game reached its Kickstarter funding goal in just three minutes. Given how ridiculously fast the game itself sold this year, we’ll have to wait and see if Elden Ring can break that record.

This isn’t the only adaptation of FromSoftware’s smash hit we’ve seen recently. Earlier this month, Elden Ring got the official manga for Tarnished and the comedy-leaning The Lands Between.

Elden Ring was easily the most talked about game of 2022. We gave it a 10 in our review, and Elden Ring tops both our best PlayStation 5 games and best Xbox Series X|S games lists. Elden Ring has also become a Twitch phenomenon thanks in part to popular player Let Me Solo Her.
