It’s an exciting start to the year for Indiana Jones fans, as according to Xbox itself, we’re finally getting an actual look at MachineGames’ upcoming Indiana Jones game at next week’s Xbox Developer Direct. But a week ago, a clever fan was able to reveal the game’s title before Xbox was ready to reveal it. He can can simply be called Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.

Twitter/X user @Kurakasis shared his findings on social media today, noting that Lucasfilm has registered a number of domain names with variations on this title since yesterday. These include and a number of others.

These domains pair nicely with the Lucasfilm trademark applied to Europe two years ago Especially for “The Great Circle”, which seems to be related to video games. It’s worth noting that Lucasfilm had circles in mind on that date in 2022, as the company also registered trademarks for The Galactic Circle and Circle of Resistance on that day. in time, a number of fansites Given the words “Galaxy” and “Resistance”, he speculated that these trademarks were for something related to Star Wars. However, IGN was unable to find any registrations for domain names that reflect those naming schemes, suggesting that Lucasfilm may need to rename The Great Circle very soon. Unless there’s more Star Wars happening in the next week or two, Indiana Jones would be a logical place for this need to arise.

Not for nothing, Bethesda also published annoying gif it shows a circle earlier today. Whether or not this is the Great Circle remains to be seen – it wouldn’t be the first time one of the most common base forms has featured prominently in Indiana Jones stories, though the timing is certainly interesting.

Still, even with all this evidence, this trademark has absolutely nothing to do with the game that will be revealed at next week’s Developer Direct. Trademarks and domain names can often be good indicators of what’s to come, but not everything a company sits on becomes a full-fledged game. We’ll have to wait until next week to see the showcases, though IGN has reached out to Xbox to confirm or deny this.

Indiana Jones and… whatever was first announced in January 2021 via a tweet from Bethesda. The game has an original story and is produced by Todd Howard in collaboration with Lucasfilm. At the time, we noted that Vatican City appeared to be located here, as the joke consisted of a plane ticket to Rome from October 1937 and a map with the Sistine Chapel on it. We haven’t seen anything else about the game since then, but we’ve learned that it will feature a “unique” collection of different genres, and while it was initially slated for a PS5 release, it will eventually become an Xbox console exclusive. Thanks to Xbox’s acquisition of Zenimax.

Expect more at the Developer Direct next week on January 18, 2023 at 12:00 PM PT.
