First Google Pixel 9 Pro renders reveal smaller screen, new camera island

Google released the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro in October 2023 and is now moving towards the Pixel 9 lineup.

According to the first CAD-based renders, the Pixel 9 Pro should have a smaller screen, flat bezels and sides, and a camera bump that no longer extends from one end to the other.

The leaks revealed that the display will be a 6.5-inch panel compared to the 6.7-inch OLED of its predecessor. However, the entire body will be basically the same size, meaning the bezels will be slightly thicker.

Google relied on a wide camera island in the last three generations of its Pixel flagships. Shooters are once again depicted horizontally, but on an oval island. Although the device is 8.5mm thin at the base, the bump will add almost 50%, meaning the camera setup will be 12mm.

Google is using an aluminum frame, but we can expect the company to follow the titanium alloy trend adopted by Apple’s iPhone 15 Pro series and Samsung’s Galaxy S24 Ultra.
