Fortnite Chapter 4 is rumored to launch in December. Here’s everything we know so far, based on various leaks and subtle in-game hints from Epic Games itself.
Instructions in cosmetics
A number of new Season 4 cosmetics include images hinting at the end of Chapter 3:
Although these descriptions may seem normal for Fortnite items similar cosmetics are introduced in Chapter 2 8 obviously they are teasers. The following images were added to Fortnite a month before the announcement of the Chapter 2 final event:
- Page turner Emote: “Wait a second, I’m almost at the end of the chapter.”
- Reality Rendering Pickaxe: “This crew has ended countless realities. Soon Ada will join them.”
- Cube vortex: “You’re running out of time. Tik, tik, tik.”
“The Nothing” is heavily referenced by in-game characters, cosmetic renderings, and even by Epic Games Chief Creative Officer Donald Mustard. Mustard first mentioned “The Nothing” in October 2021 when replying “or…NOTHING” to his own tweet saying “EVERYTHING IS CHANGING”. Just four days later, Fortnitemares tweeted a quote from the Wrath of the Cube Queen trailer, this time mentioning the word “Nothing” in capital letters.
It was recently celebrated as part of the Week 1 Paradise Quest in The Nothing. After successfully contacting the Paradigm for one of the new Tasks, he replies, “I have to keep these transmissions short, but I’ll send everything I know. Stay safe. And listen, there’s no second chance here. Nothing. –”. After hearing this, Jones says, “Didn’t he say anything? Or-or-or “Nothing,’ capital T, capital N?”.
Paradigm goes on to say, “If there’s a way, we need to know everything about The–. Starting with Chrome. We’ve done some experiments, but you’ll probably need more information.”
It looks like we’ll learn more about The Nothing as Season 4 progresses.
Data miners recently discovered that Fortnite developers have been testing a new map codenamed Asteria. Asteria is the name of a Greek goddess, following the naming pattern used for the earlier Chapter Islands:
- Chapter 1 – code name Athena
- Chapter 2 – code name Apollo
- Chapter 3 – code name is Artemis
- Chapter 4 – code name Asteria?
Interestingly, Epic has never used a Greek codename for anything other than a new map in the past, making it even more likely that Asteria is the Island name in Chapter 4. The Asteria map is labeled “S23 Test”. We are currently on Fortnite v22.00.
Similarities with Fortnite Cubed
Season 8, titled Chapter 2 ‘Cubed’, approached the story of the Chapter through a map corruption, a bad character and of course a giant live event. All these elements are present in Season 3 4 as well. Like the Cube corruption last year, Chrome will roll out across the island by December. Greasy Grove’s takeover of Chrome has now been made official with the Season 4 Battle Pass trailer:
owing to leakers, we know that Epic has prepared a live event that will take place during the v22.40 update, which is expected to be released at the end of November. The data miners also revealed that v22.40 will be the last update of the season with the patch currently for version 23.
As always, we’ll keep you posted if anything else comes to light regarding Chapter 4.
