Rumors a Golden eye 007 port or remaster has been circulating in the industry for some time now. Once users see the achievements for the game on Xboxrelease was understandably assumed to be imminent, with some optimistic fans half-expecting the shade to drop in June. Unfortunately, this was not the case. No word on the game’s release has been released by Rare, Nintendo, or Microsoft, and it’s now believed that the game may be in limbo at the moment due to the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine. Our sister site reports Pure Xboxthis comes via a recent tweet from reporter Jeff Grubb, who stated in no uncertain terms that the game is “in limbo due to the war.”

While this may be speculation on Jeff’s part, the reasoning makes a lot of sense; Finally, GoldenEye 007 has Bond infiltrating Russian installations and taking on the Russian military in a rather violent way. Miyamoto himself had previously suggested a more passive endgame solution. It is not inconceivable that Microsoft and Nintendo would not want to release the game at this point.

If true, the apparent delay in GoldenEye 007’s release follows the news Advanced Battles 1+2: Reboot Camp will be postponed indefinitely from the original date of April 8 “in light of recent world events.” An alternate release date for the game has not been set at this time.
