More widespread use of the new message delivery metrics would be a welcome visual change that would bring the Google Messages app one step closer to feature parity with competing services. However, we do not think that the revisions we see in the program mean anything to the RCS standard itself.
RCS in Google Messages Signal may not yet be seen as a mainstream replacement for instant messaging apps like WhatsApp and Telegram, but it’s poised to get there eventually.
