At the very end Power On newsletter, Gurman said that Apple will now “release the rest of its 2022 products through press releases, updates to its website and briefings with select members of the press” rather than a digital event. Rumors have suggested that Apple is planning a second fall event in October that will focus on the Mac iPadhowever, this may no longer be the case.

Apple has three things on its list for the rest of 2022: an 11-inch and a 12.9-inch iPad Pro. M2 chip, the updated ‌Mac mini‌ with the ‌M2‌ and the still announced “‌M2‌ Pro” chip, and the updated 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros.

Apple announced the redesigned ‌M2‌ chip in June MacBook Air and the 13-inch MacBook Pro at WWDC earlier this June. Aside from the new chip, the Mac and ‌iPad‌ updates will be relatively incremental upgrades with no major design changes to the products. Apple has released products via press release in the past, e.g AirPods Max and original AirPods Pro.
