If possible, you should get your meat fresh from the grocery store or at the very least, says Federer. (Although, we should warn you that processed deli meats can also wreak havoc on your metabolism.)

And if you really can’t give up Spam or other packaged meat, he offers some advice: “I highly recommend choosing the lighter versions available.” Feder says. “These are reduced fat, sodium and calories.” much better!
