Thousands of Apple device users reported problems using iMessage on Thursday afternoon.
According to the outage tracker, more than 13,000 iMessage outages were reported after 6pm ET Downtector.
Some users have reported receiving a “Not Delivered” message while using the app. Others said they should choose to send a non-iMessage text with a green bubble instead.
Apple is online System status monitor briefly said that iMessage was having problems around 7:00 ET.
USA TODAY could not reach Apple for comment, but the company noted the problem it was resolved around 19:30 said that some users will not be able to use this service today between 17:49-18:35.
Social media is reacting
Users quickly flocked to social media platforms to share their experiences as they could not use the communication platform.
Many shared memes on X (formerly Twitter) poked fun at the instincts of those who can’t use iMessage to check social media to make sure they’re not alone.
