Immortals Fenyx Rising

According to a new report from VGC, multiple anonymous development sources have confirmed that the Immortals Fenyx Rising sequel is in early development at Ubisoft Quebec, but Ubisoft management decided to cancel the sequel earlier this month due to “perceived issues with IP creation.”

Ubisoft has reportedly canceled Immortals sequel Fenyx Rising

Immortals Fenyx Rising launched in 2020 and has you playing as a winged demigod on a quest to save the Greek gods. According to various rumors last year, it was believed that the sequel would move away from Greek mythology and instead focus on Polynesian mythology.

according to VGC‘s sources, future plans for the IP were called into question as Ubisoft decided to shift its focus to its larger brands. Earlier this year, Ubisoft canceled three unannounced games and announced a shift in strategy that indicated the company would focus on strengthening its core IP and live services.

When reached for comment, Ubisoft told VGC that the company “does not comment on rumors or speculation.

Immortals Fenyx Rising is currently playable with Xbox Game Pass and Ubisoft’s own subscription service, Ubisoft+.
