Former Detroit Lions and Los Angeles Chargers linebacker Jesse Lemonier has passed away at the age of 25. press release From the lions.
“We are shocked and saddened to hear of the passing of former Detroit Lion Jesse Lemonnier,” the team tweeted.
“Jesse was a model teammate and a wonderful young man who went the distance. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends at this difficult time.

Born in Hialeah, Florida, Lemonnier played college football at Liberty University before entering the 2020 NFL Draft. He soon signed with the Chargers as an undrafted free agent.
After being waived, Lemonnier was signed to the team’s practice squad before being promoted to the active roster weeks later.
During his time with Los Angeles, he played in six games, making two tackles before exiting.
He spent the 2021 season with the Lions, playing in seven games — two starts — and finishing with 15 total tackles and 1.5 sacks.
Last summer, he was on the Arizona Cardinals’ practice squad, recording a sack in a preseason game before being released.
Lemonier was drafted by the XFL’s Arlington Renegades in November of last year, but earlier this month, Lemonier signed with the Houston Rockets in the United States Football League.
His agent, Drew Smith, told ESPN that Lemonier was expecting a child with his girlfriend.
