Jim Ryan has once again assured PlayStation gamers that the upcoming Spider-Man 2 will be a PS5 exclusive.

Speaking to the Japanese publication Famitsu in a new interview, Ryan said that Insomniac Games “made no compromises” when it came to Spider-Man 2.

Translating from Famitsu, Ryan continued, “We ask them [Insomniac] Focusing on maximizing PS5’s features and making it work at its best. As a result, we have received feedback from gamers that they will be able to enjoy truly beautiful visuals and a great experience.”

Earlier this month, Jon Paquette, Insomniac’s Director of Promotions, said the team was “working really hard to make sure this is the best game we’ve ever made, and we can’t wait to share it with you.”

Not much is really known about Spider-Man 2. In September 2021, the game was revealed to the world and it was revealed that Venom would be the villain in the game. Venom voice actor Tony Todd announced earlier this year that the game would be released in September.

“It feels like September! Mass promotion is coming in August. Ads start dropping in August, so I’m told. Hold on … and hold your breath! It will be necessary,” he said. Insider Gaming has also heard from media sources that Sony is getting a lot of media related advertising for September for Spider-Man 2 (and a “secret” game in October).

More Spider-Man 2 is expected to be revealed at the next PlayStation Showcase scheduled for May 24, 2023.
