By the end of 2023
There are very few people in the fighting game community that anyone can sustain success in multiple games/franchises. Justin Wong has for the past two decades.
The multi-titled champion has just put together and published a new tier list of what it believes are the best fighting games ever released until the end of 2023.
Instead of starting with the more expected choices from Capcom entries, Justin goes back to some Namco classics, placing Soul Calibur 2 and the original Tekken Tag Tournament high on the list, which most won’t have a problem with.
Obviously, Marvel vs. The Capcom games will also rise for Wong, but his highest Street Fighter ratings are certainly Street Fighter 3 Third Strike and Ultra Street Fighter 4.
Vanilla Street Fighter 5 falls in the bin, Champion Edition is a bit higher, and Street Fighter 6 is last in his ranking – so you’ll have to see his explanation of where he puts it.
Some of his other trash cans may cause some controversy among some fans, such as Guilty Gear Strive, the original Street Fighter 2, the original Tekken, King of Fighters ’94, Injustice games, Mortal Kombat 11, and the first Killer Instinct. You can probably be there like Street Fighter 1 and SVC Chaos.
