The San Diego Padres have placed shortstop Luis Campusano on the 10-day list with a sore left thumb. The good news is that the team doesn’t expect to need all 10 days.

Camposano continued to play with an injured thumb while receiving a pitch from assistant Yuki Matsui on Thursday. He was uncomfortable swinging the bat on Friday and was scratched from the starting lineup before the first home game.
In a similar move, the Padres recalled Brett Sullivan from Triple-A El Paso. He is likely to start the game on Sunday afternoon.
Sullivan leads the Chihuahuas with 11 home runs and is hitting .282/.353/.546 in 54 games in the Pacific Coast League. However, he was 0-for-2 in the three big league games in which he appeared.
