Samsung is accelerating the global expansion of mobile artificial intelligence by allowing users to experience Galaxy AI in previous models.
Samsung Electronics today announced the availability of Galaxy AI1 features on more Galaxy devices through the new One UI 6.1 update, designed to further democratize mobile AI. The update will be available on the Galaxy S23 series, S23 FE, Z Fold5, Z Flip5 and Tab S9 series that started rolling out from the end of March. In line with the recently launched Galaxy S24 series,2 this update raises the bar for users’ mobile AI experience through a hybrid approach that combines on-device and cloud-based AI.
“With Galaxy AI, our goal is not only to pioneer a new era of mobile AI, but also to empower users by making AI more accessible,” said TM Roh, President and Head of Mobile Experience Business, Samsung Electronics. “This is just the beginning of Galaxy AI, as we plan to bring the experience to over 100 million Galaxy users in 2024 and continue to innovate ways to harness the unlimited possibilities of mobile AI.”
Communication that breaks barriers
More Galaxy users will now be able to take advantage of the Galaxy AI features that enhance communication available on AI-powered models. Features include the ability to adjust message tone using Chat Assist and translate messages into 13 different languages.3 Galaxy users can experience the power of real-time interaction through Live Translate,4 which provides voice and text translations for phone calls. With Translator, users can also have spontaneous conversations with locals while traveling, as the split-screen feature generates text translations for live chats.
Productivity Unparalleled
The broader integration of Galaxy AI across the Galaxy ecosystem also enables a seamless user experience in everyday tasks on AI-powered models and drives new levels of efficiency. Search functions are enhanced with Google through Circle to Search,5 generates intuitive search results with flexible circular motion. Life-enhancing organization features like Note Assist6 Allow users to create formats, create summaries, and translate notes during Review Help7 enables individuals to keep up to speed faster by creating comprehensive summaries of news articles. Transcript Help can also easily transcribe meeting recordings, create summaries and translations.

With Galaxy AI, Samsung is doubling down on its role in unlocking the creative potential of individuals. The latest Galaxy update introduces a suite of Galaxy AI tools that encourage creative freedom even after the photo is taken. Through Generative Editing,8 AI-powered devices can easily resize, reposition or correct objects in images to perfect a beautiful shot. Users can also polish any photo faster and easier than ever with Edit Proposal.9 No need for multiple retakes like Instant Slow-mo10 can create additional frames for slow motion videos to capture action moments.
The creativity and customization doesn’t end there. Personalizing Galaxy devices is easier than ever with AI-generated wallpapers, allowing AI-powered devices to unleash users’ creativity.
