The name of the exam – Common University Entrance Test CUET UG 2024
What is the common university entrance exam? –
Common University Entrance Test for admission to undergraduate courses of Central Universities in India will be conducted from the academic year 2024-26. This exam is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Through this, admissions will be made for undergraduate courses in all universities. However, this year only central universities will appear in this exam. UGC has asked all types of universities (state, deemed, private) for CUET scores if they are seeking admission to undergraduate courses.
Educational Qualification / Eligibility for CUET UG 2024 – Students who have passed/exited 12th class (intermediate) exam will be eligible for CUET exam 2024.
Note: Universities may decide the minimum percentage in class 12 along with CUET score for admission criteria. As universities are autonomous institutions, it depends on them what the minimum pass percentage of 12th should be.

CUET UG Exam Pattern 2024-
For Common University Entrance Test, students have to answer multiple choice questions and this test will be computer based. This means that students solve their questions on the copy and mark them on the computer. The CUCET 2024 entrance exam will be conducted in two shifts in a day. The exam time will be 3 hours. The CUET 2024 question paper consists of a compulsory language test, two domain-specific tests and a comprehensive test.
CUET and Syllabus 2024 –
Syllabus for Common University Entrance Test will be based on NCERT Class 12 Syllabus. There will be papers based on Section 1A, Section 1B, General Examination and Domain Specific Topics. Part 1 One paper will be compulsory and there will be a choice of 13 languages. These include English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Gujarati, Malayalam, Marathi, Oriya, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu.
Domains for CUET UG 2024 –
CUCET 2024 will be conducted for 27 domains including Accountancy, Biology, Biotechnology, Economics, History, Dance, Theatre, Music, Arts and many more.
Languages for CUET 2024 –
CUET 2024 entrance exam will be conducted in 13 languages Hindi, Punjabi, Assamese, Bengali, Oriya, Gujarati, Marathi, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Tamil, Urdu and English.
What are the benefits for students? –
Because of this exam, students do not have to take various entrance exams for undergraduate courses in universities across the country. Due to the new system, students now focus on learning rather than scoring high marks in class 12th. This exam system reduces the financial burden of students and parents

Exam Structure for CUET (UG) 2024 –
CUET (UG) – 2024 will consist of the following 4 units:
Part IA – 13 languages
Class IB – 19 languages
Part II – 27 domain specific topics
Part III – General Examination
Level of Questions for CUET (UG) 2024 –
All questions in various areas of the examination will be graded at the Class XII level only. Students who have studied Class XII Board Syllabus can do well in CUET (UG) – 2024.
Number of attempts –
If any university allows past XII year students to take admission in the current year, such students will be eligible to appear in CUET (UG) – 2024.
Choice of Language and Subjects –
Generally the languages/subjects chosen should be those chosen by the student in the last board examination of class XII. However, if any university allows any flexibility in this regard, it may also be applicable in CUET (UG) 2024. In this regard, candidates should carefully check the eligibility criteria of various central universities. In addition, if the subject to be studied in the undergraduate course is not in the list of 27 Domain Specific Subjects offered,
The candidate can choose the subject which is closest to his choice eg for biochemistry the candidate can choose biology.
