Over 200k Team Fortress 2 fans want Valve to fix the game

Valve’s free-to-play class-based shooter, Team Fortress 2, is over 16 years old and still continues to be one of the most played games on Steam. However, TF2‘s massive fan base is fed up with Valve’s inability or unwillingness to address the game’s bot issues and has launched a new, massive campaign to pressure the developer to do something.

For years now Team Castle 2— originally released in October 2007 —there is a serious bot problem. In 2020, we reported on racist spam bots they were filling TF2‘s conversation with scary messages. Then, in 2022we informed about it again TF2‘s ongoing bot issues. This time around, bots filled the servers and used their AI skills to destroy human players, making the game nearly impossible according to many. TF2 fans. Gamers sent thousands of emails to outlets like Valve and My city and IGN tries to draw attention to the issue. And it worked! Valve, the company behind Steam and Half life, acknowledged the bot issue and said it was working on fixing things. That was almost two years ago and uh…well, bots are still here and still making the game difficult.

Fans want Valve to save it Team Fortress 2

A new fan campaign started on June 3. Just like last time, players are trying to get Valve to work and do something about all the annoying bots. This time «Fix TF2″ campaign wants player signatures to be delivered to Valve in the future. So far, the site has collected more than 210,000 signatures and counting.

«To put it mildly, Team Fortress 2 is in an unacceptable state, and Valve’s indifference in dealing with the problem is nothing short of appalling,» reads a message on the Fix TF2 website.

The campaign’s mission statement asks Valve to implement updated anti-cheat measures for aging TF2, still makes money every year through microtransactions. Fans also want an open line of communication with Valve regarding the state of the game and the bot issue.

As someone who e-mails Valve for comments and responses as part of my job and gets very little response, I wish you all the best of luck in getting them to communicate more. Speaking of which, My city contacted Valve about TF2‘s bots.

To get Valve’s attention, the website is asking fans to share stories, screenshots and clips of bots. TF2 on social media. It also asks fans to share the campaign’s website. Nowhere on the site does it ask fans to browse TF2, but it still happens nowmost likely as a result of angry players asking Valve to do something.

Valve has yet to officially respond to the campaign as of June 4, 2024. Official TF2 The latest tweet from the Twitter account… last time Valve responded To fans complaining about bots in 2022. So we’ll see TF2‘s second tweet in nearly two years is another promise that fixes are coming. Last time it helped calm the fans down. This time…I’m not sure.
