Earlier this week, we revealed how a trained crew called “Team 0%” was trying to complete every community level in the original Super Mario Maker before Nintendo shut down online functionality for Wii U and 3DS. April 8, 2024.

The story has since taken a bit of a turn as he struggled to beat the final level, “Cutting the Grass” – the level’s creator confirmed it was an “illegal download” (thanks, OatmealDome). Therefore, the final community level was actually “The Last Dance” cleared by ‘Yamada_SMM2’. March 15, 2024.

This means that the entire community level in the game has already been cleared. Mission accomplished! Here’s part of what the team behind the effort said in the update:

“Cutting grass was actually TAS (instrument-assisted rapid run), “Finalize the Last Dance!”

To reach this point, the Mario Maker community had to surpass 25,000 undefeated levels since last October. This is once again a magnificent feat!

So that’s it folks! Wii U and 3DS online services will be shut down next month in April. If you have any last-minute work you want to do while the service is still active, now’s the time to download these old Nintendo devices. You can learn more about closure in our guide:
