In 2023, jets were the flavor of the month. In the year In 2024, it feels like the same old team that makes fans run for the Rum Raisin, grab the raisin.

Coach Robert Saleh likes it that way.

“Last year, it was a little louder,” Saleh told NFL Media’s Steve Wyche. “We accept a little silenceHe said.

That is a gross understatement. The jets were heavily armed and went into action Hard knocks. Everyone thought they would be great with Aaron Rodgers on the team. He pointed out that the schedule will not be easy. Rodgers’ loss made it an improbable loss after four seasons — and a widely-perceived collapse.

This year may have been last year. But it could result in lower expectations and perhaps fewer stand-alone, high-profile, nationally televised games this year.

“Aaron, he’s on a mission,” Saleh said. “He’s doing his rehab. He is in California, I believe. He’s obviously taking some time for himself. It was ready to go last year, man. So I know it’s being prepared. We talk to him often. I don’t want to talk about him, but I’m going to talk about him and I’m going to say that he’s going to be very excited to attack this season.

Of course, just a week ago, Jets didn’t know how excited Rogers was to be Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s potential running mate. That went as quickly as it came out, and now the Jets can focus on the task at hand.

“[I’m] We are excited to attack this season and do the things we should have done a year ago.” Saleh said.

It still won’t be easy. The schedule is not as scary. The three teams will face the Steelers, Broncos and Vikings twice in their own division, all four teams from the NFC West, all four teams from the AFC South.

But they will be counting on several aging players at key positions to get and stay healthy through a 17-game regular season and a qualifying postseason.

That goes for the players, coaches and executives currently on owner Woody Johnson’s payroll if they lack quality.
