The Steelers are looking to add some depth at linebacker.
Rashner on the edge of the star TJ Watt He is set to go on injured reserve, according to NFL Media’s Tom Pelissero, who reports that Pittsburgh linebacker Ryan Anderson is working.
Anderson was last with the Giants in training camp last year. But in late August, he was suspended for the first six games of the season in violation of NFL policy. New York released Anderson and did not sign with another team last offseason.
A 2017 second-round pick, Anderson spent his first four years with Washington. In 52 games, he made four starts for the club, recording 6.0 sacks, seven tackles for loss and 15 QBs.
The Steelers are reportedly hopeful that Watt won’t need surgery for his torn hamstring and can return. At least six weeks.
