There are two huge matchups on tap for Week 10, both in the SEC. Tennessee, The newly recorded number 1 in the CFP rankings, heading to Athens No. 3 Georgia, the defending national champion. Elsewhere, No. 6 Alabama heads to Baton Rouge to face No. 10 LSU.

Another top team, No. 4 Clemson, is on an upset alert in South Bend and is one of several other ranked teams in a flat against an unranked opponent.

As the Tennessee-Georgia game is to the SEC East, the Alabama-LSU game is to the SEC West. LSU, Ole Miss and Alabama are all tied for first place in the division with 4-1 SEC records, so whoever wins this will be in a position to reach the SEC title game. LSU’s offense seems to have taken a big step in recent weeks, but trying to keep up with a powerful Alabama team coming up in week one will be a tough task.

Although TCU sits alone in first place in the Big 12, Kansas State has a chance to significantly strengthen its chances of reaching the Big 12 title game with visiting Texas on Saturday. K-State played without a starting QB. Adrian Martinez For the past two weeks and it is not clear if he will come back here. His backup, Will Howard, performed admirably in Martinez’s absence. Texas, meanwhile, still has a shot at the Big 12 title game, but that must start with a win this week.

Clemson is 8-0 with four games remaining in the playoff race. This Notre Dame trip will have no bearing on the ACC Tournament, but Clemson needs this win to get back to the College Football Playoff. In Clemson’s last road trip, Dabo Swinney started QB DJ Uiagalelei after Clemson fell behind Syracuse. Will Yougallee have another short streak if he fights in South Bend? Notre Dame, meanwhile, has had an up-and-down year in Marcus Freeman’s first season as head coach. The Irish have won five of their past six despite starting 0-2. Which version of Ireland will be shown on Saturday?
