The “Bear Raid” siren played at kickoffs and key defensive plays will no longer be used at Soldier Field, One official said Colleen Kane of the Chicago Tribune.

If you’ve forgotten what a blaring siren sounds like, here’s an audio clip to refresh your memory.

According to Kane, the siren debuted during the Bears’ 15-6 win over the Los Angeles Rams in 2018, a war of attrition if memory serves Bears fans correctly.

But for new requests Bears‘ For 2022, the siren will no longer be used in matchday operations. The team hasn’t played this season, not even during the Bears’ lone preseason game at Soldier Field.

The Bears even sounded the siren in 2020 when fans weren’t allowed to attend games.
