SKILL TYPE ABILITY Skill DESCRIPTION
Attack Ambush Shoot the enemy from behind. Can only be used on non-combat enemies.
Attack Beta Energy Steal Charges more Beta Energy on a successful Ambush or Attack.
Attack Endless Rush Increases charge distance and Haste Attack Power. More effective than Lightning Rush.
Attack Haste chain Attacks the enemy and does additional combo attacks. Combo Attack skill.
Don’t survive Focus Enhancement Makes Perfect Parry easier to use.
Don’t survive Beta Energy Recharge II Increases the amount of Beta Energy charged with a successful Perfect Parry. Beta Energy Recharge is more effective than 1.

Ambush is an important skill to unlock as it allows you to sneak up on enemies from behind. Since the enemies are not level locked, you can use the Ambush to shoot any big or small enemy from behind.

It’s a skill that’s incredibly useful throughout the campaign, but you don’t have access to many hard-hitting special abilities, especially early on.

Beta Skills are the first set of special abilities you can get in Stellar Blade. They do a ton of damage, but require Beta Energy to activate.

Since you’ll be relying on Ambush to take down enemies stealthily, Beta Energy Steal is a great skill because it recharges Beta Skills on successful Ambush attacks.

Rush is great for closing enemy range, and you may want to use Infinite Rush, as it increases the distance you can travel and the attack power of the Rush hit.

Likewise, we recommend unlocking Rush Chain, as it deals a whirlwind of combined attacks that doesn’t require much input but does a lot of damage.

Parrying is extremely important to mastering the Star Blade. However, it can take some getting used to, especially early on, as you learn to strike a balance between performing combo attacks and parrying enemy attacks.

Therefore, we recommend unlocking the Focus Boost skill, as it makes it easier to land the perfect shot that balances the enemy.

Likewise, you may want to unlock Beta Energy Recharge II as it increases the Beta Energy you can recover with perfect parries. Additional notes on how to proceed with beta skills:

While all four Beta skills are unique and powerful abilities, we recommend focusing on one of them first and unlocking all of their skills in the subskill tree.

For example, if you decide to unlock Triplet, it’s better to unlock all subsequent skills that increase Triplet’s efficiency instead of the second Beta skill.

These are some of the best skills to use early game in Stellar Blade.
