Gigabyte RTX 4090 GAMING OC for sale
The sales embargo does not appear to apply to street vendors in Hong Kong.
Someone managed to buy Gigabyte’s RTX 4090 graphics card more than two weeks before the official release. One doesn’t usually see next-gen GPUs selling out anytime soon, but this could confirm that NVIDIA’s board partners do indeed have plenty of stock of cards waiting for customers.
This week, the board’s partners just started shipping test samples of the RTX 4090, which should be arriving to reviewers soon. According to our sources, some media outlets have already received their cards, including NVIDIA’s own Founders Edition. Most importantly, neither reviewers nor early customers will be able to use these cards yet.
NVIDIA has yet to release a driver that offers full functionality and performance. This driver won’t be released to the public until October 12, when the card officially launches. So since you bought this card so soon, it has no chance of working without this driver. The drive will be available to members of the press later this week.
Like any RTX 4090 card, this model comes with four 8-pin to one 16-pin power adapters that unlock more than 450W of power. The card itself features NVIDIA’s newest Ada Lovelace architecture based on TSMC 4N process technology. The RTX 4090 is equipped with an AD102 GPU with 16384 CUDA cores and 24 GB of GDDR6X memory.
The price of this model has not yet been confirmed, but it will likely be more than the official MSRP of USD 1,599. The person who bought this card did not say how much it cost.
Many thanks to ZirconZer0 for the tip!
