Gleyber Torres directed. The Yankees are coming off a win against the Red Sox on Tuesday night. at Fenway Park.
He hit a minor-league three-run home run on Wednesday night.
With Aaron Hicks on first and Aaron Judge on second in the fifth inning, Torres hit a single to right field that scored Hicks, but that’s where the fun started.
Torres appeared to be caught in no-man’s land between first and second, but Red Sox catcher Connor Wong made a diving throw to first baseman Christian Arroyo and into right field.
Judge scored the second run of the first inning and Torres quickly homered to give the Yankees their first three runs of the game. He won 5-3 against the Red Sox.
He didn’t hit an official home run and Torres was only credited with a single and one RBI in the game, but he certainly fits the definition of a minor league homer.
