New features in One UI 5.0 Beta 3

The new update brings the biggest redesign to the wallpapers section in the past few years. It seems that Samsung has taken great inspiration Apple’s iOS 16. You can long press directly on the lock screen to change wallpaper or edit lock screen widgets. You can either choose a single wallpaper or use a range of backgrounds. You can also change lock screen shortcuts, add contact information, add a clock and date widget, and add notifications.

You can further customize the lock screen clock widget with six fonts, five styles and ten preset font colors (five solid colors and five gradients). You can even select a custom solid color or gradient from a color swatch or spectrum. You can even set the clock widget to automatically adjust according to the wallpaper color (dark or light). To view notifications, you can choose either just icons or detailed notification icons. You can even set its transparency level and text color. There’s also a new smooth animation effect when the phone goes into and out of Always On Screen mode. Samsung also categorized iOS 16 style wallpapers (Colors, Gallery and Graphic).

Samsung has also changed the UI design of the fingerprint registration process. There is a green ring around the fingerprint registration area for better focusing. The Color Palette has also been applied to the Stories section in the Gallery app, and the entire section is now more effective. With the new firmware, you can turn off Auto-Optimization in Device Care. Samsung has also fixed the issue with animations and transitions and they now look smoother.
