Microsoft plans to add a force quit option to the Windows 11 taskbar. Similar to macOS, this will finally allow Windows users to force crash apps and buggy apps directly from the taskbar without opening Task Manager.
Microsoft also has one new Windows 11 test build today includes another taskbar improvement that people have been waiting for. Never merge mode allows you to see each application window individually with labels on the taskbar. Like many other taskbar features that appeared with later updates, it was missing from Windows 11’s launch.
This new build also includes backup and restore features for PCs, making it much easier to restore apps, settings, and even passwords and credentials for Wi-Fi networks to a new PC. Microsoft is also tweaking and improving some of its emojis for Windows 11 to make them more recognizable.
All of these new features are coming to all Windows 11 users in the coming months.
