If you’re looking for a great deal on the new MacBook Pro, Apple has something of interest this week. But you have to be quick.

Apple has listed the M3 MacBook Pro for the first time repaired unit at a significant discount.

While not ‘new in the box’, these laptops have been fully serviced by Apple, come with the same warranty as a brand new machine, and are eligible for the same levels of AppleCare as a new laptop. Stocks are also limited, so if you’re looking for a specific model (such as an entry-level model), you’ll need to keep an eye out for availability.

Of course, it’s all located in the Apple Store, with the new M3-powered MacBook Air expected to debut in late March, and already introducing the next-generation Apple Silicon with October’s M3 Pro and M3 Max MacBook Pro models.

If your only concern is getting access to the maximum power and performance possible, chances are you have an M3 Pro or M3 Max on your desk. While the M3 MacBook Pro won’t reach those levels, it will be a noticeable performance boost over the potential of the M3 MacBook Air.

I’d argue that the performance difference between the consumer-oriented MacBook Air and MacBook Pro laptops isn’t enough to justify the price difference (and there’s little practical demand for the M3 MacBook Pro), but with the $240 discount offered. At a list price of $1,599 by the Refurb Store, there’s a good chance that the refurbished model will offer this as a bargain.

We don’t yet know the price of the M3 MacBook Air, which is expected to go on sale in March. I’d expect the M2 MacBook Air to remain on sale, but drop to $999, allowing the M3 MacBook Air to launch at either $1,199 or $1,299, which puts the $1,359 price of these updated models into context. They could be just $50 away from the upcoming MacBook Air.

Whether the benefits of roughly 20 percent more performance and the word “Pro” emblazoned on the cover are important enough to consider the awkwardly rendered (but now slightly cheaper) M3 MacBook Pro is a personal decision… and it has an edge. currently available.
