Brony James, the eldest son of Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James, suffered a heart attack on Monday and is doing well.
A spokesman for the James family said in a statement: “Yesterday, Brony James suffered a heart attack while at practice. “Medical staff treated Bronnie and took him to hospital. He is now in a stable condition and is no longer in the ICU. We ask for the respect and privacy of the James family and will update the media as more information becomes available.”
“LeBron and Savannah would like to publicly send their deepest gratitude and appreciation to the USC medical and athletic staff for their incredible work and dedication to the well-being of their athletes.”
Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin tweeted his support for James, who resumed his career after suffering a heart attack during last season’s Monday Night Football game.
James, 18, is entering his freshman year at USC and is ranked No. 20 in the 2023 ESPN 100 rankings. He is the sixth-ranked point guard in the 2023 class.
