As part of its live-action ambitions, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League has detailed that it will add an “Elseworlds” version of the Joker to its fourth line-up in a month’s time, and has promised three at the end of the game. More to come after that, it looks like it will fill in next year.
Yes, Braniac already talks about one of them during the game, although it seems like a coincidence (spoilers follow, I suppose). There is a video reddit While playing Harley Quinn, a player dies and Brainiac says, “I didn’t expect you to be the weak link, Freeze.”
Well, here we go. While we did get a glimpse of the ice-based hero previewed at the end of the game in the roadmap they showed you, we now know that it will definitely be Frozen, though it will be a uniquely Elseworld version.
You can kind of see it in the silhouette, and I think this mistake happened because of Harley being the only female character model, but this version of Freeze is female, Mrs. Freeze. I’m not sure if they’re changing Victor’s gender, which is usually his frozen wife or daughter, but it’s a female version of the character and it looks like they just didn’t want to draw Killer Frost. You can see it from the picture, but his mechanism for moving into the city will usually be the ice slide we think of from X-Men’s Iceman.

This of course begs the question of how you do a hero like Freeze when he has to follow the more general rules of Suicide Squad. You’ll mostly be limited to switching to Freeze powers and specials, using assault rifles or SMGs or mini-guns or whatever.
It’s also weird because ice is one of the four main elements (afflictions) in the game, so anyone can create a freezing structure. But by the same token, it means that Freeze can create something like a fire or electrical structure, which means you can see it’s a bit silly. “What do you mean a boomerang basically just shoots a shotgun?” back to the question? territory. But I’d argue it’s even weirder with Freeze.
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is continuing its somewhat lackluster launch with poor reviews and worse Steam numbers, but it’s looking like decent console sales and generally high scores from players. His ultimate fate is yet to be determined, but he will live long enough to freeze the lady, that’s for sure.
