Lego Parisian Street

If you consider yourself a die-hard fan of Lego for adults, you might want to walk on it takes these keys Wednesday, February 7 at 11:00 a.m. ET. That’s when Lego will begin selling five limited-edition sets that are literally fans’ dreams: fans entered the BrickLink Designer Program competition to create these Lego sets themselves, and they’ll receive 5 percent of the proceeds!

They are also really beautiful structures. I’m looking at the $380 Mountain Castle, which looks like a great supporter of the Lion Knight Castle, the $50 Snack Shack, which reminds me of the shrimp truck I love in Hawaii, and the $320 Paris Street. Haussmann architecture and charming storefronts.

I will give more details about the competition below. Here are the kits for now!

Lego estimates the sets should ship in July 2024, but “actual dates and delivery times may vary.”

Lego will also produce more of these fan-designed sets than ever before. While previous fan creations were limited to 10,000 copies or less, and Lego originally said it would produce up to 20,000 of this batch, the company now says the limit is 30,000. This means that these sets may not be as valuable to collectors as previous batches, most of them have already doubled in valuebut hopefully that means less scalpers!

It also means that fan designers of the biggest sets can earn around half a million dollars in royalties. Imagine that.
